Association Sauvons l’Environnement de Panduru works in the conflict affected region of Rona in Ituri Province, where mining, land degradation and insecurity threaten both nature and human life.
Despite these challenges, the organisation continues to defend forests, rehabilitate degraded land and mobilise local communities for ecological restoration. Their work includes reforestation, fighting the destructive impacts of artisanal mining and promoting sustainable use of natural resources.
Their resilience and commitment reflect the courage of communities protecting nature even amidst instability and violence.
